Frequently Asked Questions
Q. What special music do I need to choose?
A. You need to choose the following:
- Prelude – 6-7 pieces (This is optional. If you don’t designate what you would like we will play pieces from our repertoire) You could just tell us you would like either classical or more Pops/Contemporary.
- One piece for family, special guests (This is optional. They can be seated during the last piece of the Prelude)
- One piece for the Wedding Party, officiant, bridesmaids, groomsmen, flower girls, ring bearers.
- Bride’s Processional
- Interlude during the ceremony (this is optional)
- Recessional
- Postlude 1-2 pieces (This is optional)
- Cocktail Reception – 12-15 pieces or we can play from our repertoire.
Q. Can you play special requests, songs, which are not included in your repertoire?
A. Absolutely. We are constantly learning new songs based on demand; therefore our already extensive repertoire is ever increasing. If you have a favorite piece of music that is not on our list, we will attempt to acquire it (subject to availability) or for an additional cost, we can have it specially arranged.
Q. Do you play outdoors?
A. Yes; however, our valuable instruments cannot and will not be exposed to direct sun, high winds, temperatures below 50 degrees, any type of precipitation or extreme weather conditions. Therefore, protection from the elements is required and must be provided by the client. A large patio type umbrella, pop up tent, extended canopy or inside a doorway is acceptable.
Q. What happens if one of the players is sick or unavailable on the day of the performance?
A. In this very unlikely scenario, we have a large network with very professional musicians, and we can engage a substitute player with only a short notice without compromising the standard of our performance.
Q. Do you attend wedding rehearsals?
A. There is no need for us to be at your rehearsal. We are experienced and will get information from you in advance, i.e. number of people in your wedding party, etc. We time the music according to your needs regardless of the length of your chosen music. Each song can be shortened or lengthened and will conclude at the right time for the ceremony to flow smoothly. However, if you wish us to take part in the rehearsal (depending on availability of players) we are happy to do so. Our standard fees would apply.
Q. Do you require amplification?
A. We are all acoustic and our sound can fill a large room with several hundred guests or travel a fair distance in an outside setting. If you desire amplification, you are responsible for supplying a sound system with technical support.
Q. Do I need to meet with you to discuss our plans?
A. You are always welcome to meet with Wendy, our music director, at a mutually decided meeting spot. We like the personal contact, but with modern technology this is not absolutely necessary.
Q. Can I hear you play before making a booking?
A. We understand the importance of your desire to receive quality when booking. While we perform over 60 times a year most of our bookings are private, which we respect. For this reason we have made video recordings which you can access via the link, “Videos.” All of our players are conservatory trained professionals with years of experience. We can also provide you with references, reviews, and testimonials located throughout the website.
Q. Are there any hidden costs?
A. No, our prices are all inclusive. When you receive a quote it includes our Preparation, mileage/travel, cartage, set-up, warm-up, Prelude (we play 20-30 minutes before the ceremony as guests are arriving, Processional, Recessional, Postlude (we play 5-10 minutes as guests are departing) take-down. In special cases, we may charge for an extra rehearsal. If we play the ceremony at one venue and the reception at another, there may be a re set-up fee.
Q. How can I book?
A. If you wish to book, we will send you a Performance Agreement stating the date. time, place, and type of ensemble. It will also let you know our policies and requirements. We require a non-refundable deposit of 50% to confirm your booking. A price list of our services can be provided at your request. The balance is payable 7 days prior to the day of performance. Balance payment on the day of performance can also be arranged. We accept personal checks. PayPal and/or Zelle transfers may require an additional fee. Our rates depend on what kind of ensemble you request and how long we play. The fees range from $400.00-$2000.00+.
